Musikmesse 2008 - Frankfurt - Show Report
We were lucky; we had two kits to show, even though they were prototype kits. For the Messe show we also had a great drummer, Ralf Gustke. Ralf held four shows a day. The Drumit drum system revolves around a revolutionary stand developed by ourselves. The stand is designed to be of a very lightweight design, and we were concerned whether the kit would stand up to the rigours of having a professional drummer giving it a really hard time. Well; we shouldn't have worried. The stand worked to perfection.
Unfortunately we didn't have time to get all the functions working, but we did have tuning, and five kits for Ralf to play. The nice thing with this situation was that everyone was purely listening to the raw sound; nothing was processed with eq, compression or effects. To see the amazement on peoples faces when Ralf started to play, clearly meant that everyone seemed to enjoy what they were hearing. Another satisfying item we discovered was how rock solid the kick drum is. With other systems you very often see the kick drum creeping away from the drummer, with ours it stays put.
Unfortunately we were not displaying our kit in the drum hall, we were in hall 5, but those drummers that did try the kit gave us some very constructive feedback, our thanks to you for that. One very interesting and important item that happened at the show, was that we were nominated for the MIPA award (it's the equivalent of the music manufacturers Oscar) not bad for a kit that isnít even on sale yet, it obviously bodes well for the future. We are very grateful for the nomination.
We also had discussions with numerous sound library companies and it would seem that these libraries will work with the Drumit Five sound format. We believe that live drumming is so much more fun than programmed. To all the drummers out there, its time for you to be in control.Once again, to all of you that were kind enough to drop by our stand and give the kit a try, and for your positive feedback, thank you.
